Inside the PreLaunch at IAmVoip
There is a specific mindset, an optimism and drive to acheive great things, when you enter any company preparing for their marketing launch.
Everyone is riding that wave of optimism, often stretching workdays into fifteen or even twenty hour marathons preparing the product, the infrastructure ( support, phone lines, etc) and testing and refining the direct sales compensation plan.
The marketing office for IAmVoip was no different. Mark Guest, a twenty plus year veteran of the direct sales marketspace, heads up the marketing and sales department at IAmVoip.
Mark walked me through the product, and the product benefits in the polished style of a professional who is comfortable pitching anything. Mark could sell ice cubes to the proverbial eskimos, but I'd never seen him as optimistic and fired up as this.
In the home based business marketpace, every concievable product has been squeezed into this particular marketing niche. Vitamins, creams, lotions, fuel additives, travel, cleaning products, you name it, some company sells it. Each has its own niche and competitors.
Voip is different. As Mark demonstrated the product, and its simplicity on thing became apparent - this isn't your usual network marketing deal.
First, the product is self explanatory. It's something everyone uses: Cheaper phone service, delivered over your high speed internet line. No one will need a lengthy explanation about why they will benefit from using IAmVoip. Want to pay less for phone service? IAmVoip. Make lots of long distance calls? IAmVoip. Need to call out of the country often? IAmVoip. Need an extra fax or a business line? IAmVoip.
Second, the direct sales compensation is simple. New companies often roll out with complicated compensation plans that require a Phd in Math just to begin to understand. If you decide to be an IAmVoip rep, you earn direct commission on each sale and a binary commission on future sales and monthly Voip fees. That's it.
Third, anyone and everyone is a customer. You don't need to sell someone on becoming a rep to get them to want the product. Let's take health beverages for instance, a staple of the direct sales business - in order to get someone truly excited about paying seven times more for a bottle of juice they can get at Costco for one seventh the price, you need to tell them how they will make up the difference in commission on the sale of that sevenfold overpriced beverage to friends and family and so on.
With IAmVoip, that's not the situation. Anyone with high speed internet access looking to save money on their monthly phone bill is a potential customer. No need to pitch them on being a direct sales rep ( unless you choose too ).
More to come about the IAmVoip product, setting up and using IAmVoip, and the company launch ( slated for June 4, 2007 ).
